In compliance with federal laws, Wilkes County Schools administers all locally operated educational programs, employment activities, and admissions without discrimination because of race, religion, national or ethnic origin, color, age, marital status, pregnancy, military service, disability, or gender as required by Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972. The district provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups, except where exemption is appropriate and allowed by law. Inquiries about the application of Title IX and its implementing federal regulations may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator and/or the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights in the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education.
