Cafeteria Guidelines
🍎 Free Meals for All Students
SCS will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (DEP).
Every child will be provided a free school breakfast and lunch each day.
If a family chooses to opt out of CEP or if a student chooses to buy a second meal, the child will pay the prices listed below:
We encourage all students to go through each line daily and take a meal. We offer shelf-stable items that can be eaten later or put on share tables. Breakfast items will be served from a hall cart for bus riders and in the cafeteria line for car riders.
Lunch will be served on a serving line according to the National School Lunch program. Students will go through the line in the cafeteria to choose an entree and side items. We offer a variety of menu options, which can be previewed from the WCS website, including fresh salads and supplemental packer lunches.
Students may also pack lunch and snacks each day. Please note that we cannot heat up or keep cold packed student meals. Students may purchase extra snacks in the cafeteria, and ice cream will be available for purchase only on Fridays.
Cafeteria Guidelines
- Students are to practice good manners in the cafeteria. Students must use good table manners, pick up, and clean up after themselves. Running, pushing, kicking, tripping, breaking in line, throwing food, tampering with other students' food, popping milk cartons, or other disruptive behaviors will not be tolerated and will lead to consequences.
- Students are to pick up all food and utensils as they go through the serving line. Students are to remain seated during meals.
- Students who bring lunch from home are to remain with the group and follow the same procedures and regulations (go through line). We encourage students to take a packer supplemental lunch and/or milk.
- Federal and state laws prohibit student use of carbonated beverages during regular lunch hours and prohibit any food or drink from other businesses from being brought by anyone into the cafeteria.
- We ask that you do not put sweet tea, soda, or other sweetened beverages in water bottles sent with packed snacks or lunches.
