Wilkesboro Elementary will take part in a special, community wide shared reading event called One School, One Book.
Everyone – students, parents, teachers, even administrative staff – will be reading A Boy Called BAT by Elana K. Arnold. A Boy Called Bat is a heartwarming story of a young boy, his family, and a baby skunk.
All students get their own copy, and we hope your family can find 15 minutes each day to read together at home. Along with the book, you will receive a reading schedule (Spanish reading schedule) so that you can keep up at home.
We also will update our WE READ Smore page with staff members reading daily chapters as well as fun videos to explore from home. At school students will participate in daily activities, discussion and trivia. Thank you for making time for this important project. If you'd like a copy of this book in Spanish, please let your teacher know.
When a whole school reads a book, there’s a lot to talk about. With your help, we can build a Community of Readers at our school.
Happy Reading!
