Wilkesboro Elementary Artists Shine

Wilkesboro has 10 students who will be honored Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Stone Center. The following students will have art work displayed at the Wilkes County Art Exhibit, 2nd Graders are Isaac Diaz-Alvarez, Leah Triplett, and Isabella Aguiar; 3rd Graders are Alayna Cruz-Medrano and Lucas Haney; 4th Graders are Elizabeth Bauguss, Aidyn Harkless, and Tayton Hendren; and 5th Graders are Tyler Absher and Laurel Mitchell.

Veteran's Day Celebration

Wednesday, November 8, 2017, students and staff honored our local Veterans during an assembly. Students invited local Veterans from the community into our school for recognition of their service. Each grade level performed and three 5th grade students read essays they had written about Veteran's Day. PTO honored our Veterans with a gift bag and served refreshments. We were honored to have over 50 Veterans in attendance. Among the Veterans were Bob Sullivan, Lt Col of Department of Defense. He carried with him the American flag that flew on the Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

Science Fair Winners Announced

Wilkesboro Elementary School had 39 students in grades 3-5 who competed in the school science fair on Monday, October 30, 2017. During morning announcements on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, ten students were recognized and will be moving on to our county science fair. A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated! We would like to recognize the ten students who will be moving on to the county competition. (Click title of article for students moving to county level.)
