County News

Two WCS Retired School Personnel, Mrs. Pauletta Parker and Mrs. Martha Glass, visited Wilkesboro Tuesday, May 3, 2016 and gifted our school media center a copy of Lest We Forget Volume II. This book was written and published by retired school personnel. Lest We Forget took a great effort of many retired school employees and nine years to complete. If you or a relative retired in WCS between 1975 - 2009 they are listed in the book and could have a short biography included within the book. All proceeds through the sales of the book will go to the retired school personnel fund for the publication of Volume III.

What We Are Doing at WES...

Wilkesboro Elementary School students in Ms. Romanish and Mrs. Wyles' classes traveled to Wilkes Central High School today to compete in Wilkes County's Special Olympics. Students in grades PreK - 5 made signs and posters and lined the school walkway Friday morning in support of their classmates encouraging them to do their best! This "Walk of Champions" was full of cheering, smiles and uplifting words of encouragement.

Great News!

Wilkesboro Elementary School was presented a check for $15,934.00 from the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation for the Elementary Friendly Project. The money will be used to purchase new bookcases for the media center.
